Challenging the idea of traditional beauty displayed in editorial magazines by adding unconventional components to portrait photos.
This mixed media series was an exploration of editorial layouts and how beauty is represented within magazines. Using found materials, markers, paint, and collaging was a way to complicate the source of beauty. With all the other elements, I aimed to take the attention away from the human subject and create beauty throughout the composition without relying on the human figure.
